Beschrijving: The main subject of this site is Alfred Jarry (1873-1907), French writer and eccentric, the creator of Ubu and Faustroll, who invented pataphysics, "the science of imaginary solutions", still cultivated by the Collège de "Pataphysique" ( members i.a. Queneau, Prévert, Ionesco and Vian). Beside the attention given to this facetious "science", the principal feature is the bulk of Jarry's works given in full text, an edition of his correspondence and a bibliography. There is much information on contemporaries and kindred spirits. If the presence of the surrealists, Jarry's great admirers, is rather implicit, the page on symbolism, his initial entourage, deserves attention for the bibliography of la Revue Blanche (1889-1903) and the full text of Remy de Gourmont's Le livre des masques.
